Mayer Wires Field at Deming Speedway

8/28/20

Everson, WA – For the first time in a few seasons, Ryley Mayer raced his way to victory lane at Deming Speedway, capping off a fast and fun night of racing on Dirtovaltv.com. Other division winners included Chance Crum, Caleb Grantham and Kane Van Sickle.

Mayer had the field covered from the drop of the green flag in the Speedmart 600 Open main event, as he quickly raced himself into a solid advantage over his competitors. Setting a torrid pace on the hooked up track, Mayer was never seriously challenged as he went wire to wire for the victory. Kaitlyn Hammer controlled the runner up spot all race long, with Colin Mackey coming out on top of a strong battle for third ahead of Evan Margeson.

In Shots 2 Go Espresso 1200 action, Chance Crum grabbed his ninth win of the year at Deming Speedway between the three divisions he competes in. Starting eighth, it took Crum until lap 23 before he could challenge for the lead, jumping to the inside of Seth Hespe in turn four to ascend to the top spot and eventually, victory lane. Hespe would take second and Clennon Holloway was third.

Caleb Grantham’s win in the Mytrafficman.NET 600 Restricted class looked very similar to Mayer’s win in the open division. Starting on the pole, Grantham led every lap with little trouble on his way to his first career Deming Speedway win. Corbin Ramsey and Levi Hillier rounded out the podium.

Chaos reigned in the mid stages of the Clean Crawls Junior Sprint main event, and in that chaos, Kane Van Sickle came through to collect another feature win. Dustin Ramsey led the first ten laps and brought a fast pack of five cars into slower traffic. Within the slower traffic, Avery Askvig nabbed the lead from Ramsey on lap 11, but it was Van Sickle picking the correct line on lap twelve that not only got him into the top spot, but got him past the slower cars and into an insurmountable lead and victory lane. Through the chaos, Jayce Medcalf rolled into second with McKenna Morgan taking the third position.
