Hadlock, Buckenmeyer, Fisher and Morgan Take Saturday Night Wins

8/20/22

Everson, WA – The Second night of the annual Mt Baker Athletics and Academics Fund weekend at Deming Speedway saw four different winners from the previous night of action. As the dust settled on night two, Parker Hadlock, Jacob Buckenmeyer, Mallory Fisher and McKenna Morgan stood tall with the winner’s trophies.

In the Speedmart 600 Open class, Hadlock had an easy go of things, leading all 25 laps of the main event without challenge. Levi Kuntz ran second for most of the race, while Ryley Mayer came from the back of the pack after an early race tangle with Kuntz to finish in third. Heat winners were Jared Alseth and Levi Klatt.

One night after coming oh so close to his first Shots 2 Go Espresso 1200 win in his own program, Jacob Buckenmeyer took the checkered flag first after leading all 25 laps of the main event on Saturday night. Pursued early by Brock Lemley and late by Derek Holmwood, Buckenmeyer had the car working well in either groove around the ⅙ mile and would never cede the lead on the way to win #1. Holmwood and Tyson Cross would take the final two spots on the podium. Bryce Bogardus and Seth Hespe won the heats.

It’s been a rough couple of weeks for Mallory Fisher in the Mytrafficman.NET 600 Restricted class, but her luck is trending the right direction after winning the feature on Saturday. Fisher was running second on lap 10 when race leader Dean Lehmann tangled with a slower car, handing her the top spot. She’d lead the rest of the way for the win, ahead of Zoey Tupper and Carson Guffie. The heat race winners were Avery Touchette, Diane Knutzen and Rylee Kentch.

The Clean Crawls JR Sprints main event was a wire to wire dominant win by McKenna Morgan. After a chaotic lap one where a chunk of the front runners collided and scattered through the field, Morgan zoomed away from the field for her sixth victory of the year. Sawyer Baxter came from sixth to second and Cooper Anderson drove back up to third. Baxter was a heat race winner, as was Kole Campbell.
