Everson, WA – A fantastic night of racing at Deming Speedway was capped off by a 600 feature that had twists and turns coming from all directions. Racing action was sponsored by Rallye Auto Sales and Baxter’s Excavation with race wins going to Chloe Danielson, Nate Vaughn, Alex Peck, Hudson Little and Cole Dishneau.
The Speedmart 600 Feature was wild throughout the whole feature. Tristin Thomas led early with Chloe Danielson, Colton Knapp and Jared Peterson sticking close enough to pressure him over the early stages of the race. On lap eight, contact at the front of the field sent Knapp, Peterson and fifth place Spencer Constance spinning in turn one, moving Danielson back to second place and giving Thomas some breathing room from cars who were pursuing him. Tristin restarted and built a decent sized lead – all the while, Sawyer Baxter had found the high side of the track and was rolling forward from his fifth place position on the restart. Baxter whipped his way into second and was up to the back of Thomas by lap 15, prepping to sling shot around the outside of him for the lead. Baxter would shoot by Tristin coming out of turn four and moved to close the door to the low groove in turn one when contact occurred between the two, sending both into a wreck that would end their evenings. This handed the lead to Danielson on a lap 16 restart. Chloe would open up a couple car lengths of advantage over Cooper Anderson while Colton Knapp made his last ditch effort to work his way back up the field. Running fifth on that restart, Knapp made bold moves to get to second place with two laps left and with the white flag waving, set up for one more big run. Knapp would trigger a mammoth slide job heading into the final corners but Danielson kept her speed up and drove to her first open division win ahead of Colton and Cooper. Danielson was also a heat race winner as were Constance and Emma Chorney.
Nate Vaughn made all the right calls in the Shots 2 Go Espresso 1200 main event. He and Kyle Mitchell went slidejob for slidejob over the first few laps with Vaughn hitting his marks each time to hold the lead. He would add a little pad around lap five, finding the slider line through turns three and four, forcing Mitchell to look for speed somewhere else. With about 8 laps to go, Mitchell altered his exit of turn four and closed back in on Nate, but Nate would keep him far enough away to secure the win. Mitchell was second while Jayden Whitney was third. Heat race wins went to Whitney and Alex Lewis.
Alex Peck led all 20 laps of a mostly uneventful NW Focus Midget Main event, extending his point lead in the process. Tyler Luce was second and Shane Smith took third. Ashley Thompson was the heat race winner.
It was a great battle for the lead in the Doyle Guffie’s Rallye Auto Sales 600 Restricted class. Owen Hill led the first 22 laps but Hudson Little was right on his tail from about lap 12 on. Little found a line coming off the top of turn four that shot him to the low side of turn one with enough speed to pass Hill on lap 23, giving him the top spot and the eventual win. Hill ran a great race but ended up in second while Dayton Empey was third. Empey was a heat race winner, as were Ryan Cannon, Casey Quatsoe and Sage Parker.
Cole Dishneau returned to victory lane for the Capstone Plastering JR Sprints. Cole led all 20 laps for the win on the night ahead of second place Lucas Fisher and third place Luke Coates. Coates also won a heat race on the race night, as did Austin Harris.
