Constance and Drake are First Time Winners; Baxter and Hoppe Repeat at Deming Speedway

4/26/24

Everson, WA – Victory lane was filled with a mix of brand new and repeat winners on Jim’s Automotive / Special T Signs Night at Deming Speedway. Madi Hoppe and Sawyer Baxter repeated their performances from last week while Peyton Drake and Spencer Constance became first time winners in their respective divisions.

After 5+ seasons in the Speedmart 600 division, Spencer Constance stood atop the mountain on Friday night for the first time after leading all 25 laps of the main event. With a very fast track surface on hand, Constance maintained a lead over a second long for most of the race, only seeing it shrink while trying to navigate traffic. After building more speed year in and year out, Constance collected win number one over Colin Mackey who ran second and Macie Logsdon who took third. Levi Hillier and Carson Guffie won the heat races.

Peyton Drake is in his rookie season in the Shots 2 Go Espresso 1200 class and on Friday night, picked up win number one in the division. Drake led every lap of the main event, making a deft move at the mid race point by pulling down to the low groove which secured his spot and the eventual win. Derek Holmwood made a late pass for second while Jared Alseth was third. Alseth and Jared Gundersen were the heat race winners.

For the second week in a row, Sawyer Baxter won the Doyle Guffie’s Rallye Auto Sales 600 Restricted feature. Baxter swept past Emma Chorney on lap three into the top spot and never gave it up as he rolled to his second straight win. Dustin Ramsey and Hudson Little were second and third respectively. Baxter also won his heat race, as did Little and Hunter Cook.

Madi Hoppe was also a back to back winner in the Capstone Plastering JR Sprints. Owen Hill led the bulk of the race before contact with a slower car took him out of the running. Hoppe took over the lead with six laps left and went the rest of the way for the win over Jordan Devries and Hudson Johnson. Heat winners were Titus Daigan, Aiden Stone, Hayden Cook and Hill.
