Everson, WA – The first night of the two day Wingless Weekend at Deming Speedway saw 108 cars battling for three lock in spots to the Saturday feature. When the dust settled on the night, it was Dominic Carter, Kyle MItchell, Ashley Thompson, Drake Wiersma and Jace Coates taking feature wins. 

The front of the field in the Speedmart 600 class put on a show, as race leader Dominc Carter and second place Spencer Constance ran within four car lengths or less for the entirety of the main event. In the end, it was Carter coming out on top with Constance taking second and Colton Knapp coming in third. Heat winners were Carter, Jared Peterson, Carson Guffie and Hudson Little. 

Four drivers came into the main events on the night with a chance at a clean sweep of the evening (fast time, heat race win, feature win) – only Kyle Mitchell ended up pulling it off. Mitchell would go wire to wire to finish off the sweep in the Shots 2 Go Espresso 1200 class, taking the win ahead of Nate Vaughn and Clennon Holloway. Vaughn and Parker Hadlock won the other two heat races. 

The NW Focus Midgets were in the house for the night and it was Ashley Thompson taking her first Deming Speedway win in over a decade. Thompson took the lead from Randy Schaaf on lap two and held off her husband Shane Smith for the remaining laps to get the victory. It was a happy household night as Smith secured second ahead of Alex Peck. Smith won his heat race, as did Thompson and Peck. 

In the Doyle Guffie’s Rallye Auto Sales 600 Restricted class, Drake Wiersma raced to his first in the division after leading all 25 laps of the main event. Wiersma took his first win ahead of Hudson Little who charged up to second and Owen Hill who ran third. Heat race wins went to Jayce Medcalf, Dayton Empey, Brooklyn Bracy and Logan Williams. 

Luke Coates was the ultimate spoiler on the night, keeping his cousin Jace Coates one spot out of a clean sweep. Luke took over on the ninth lap after race leader Cole Dishneau suffered mechanical malfunction and kept Jace at a healthy distance for the rest of the main to take the win. Jace was second while Austin Harris took third. Jace, Dishneau and Wyatt Dart were the heat race winners.
