Everson, WA – On a hot August evening, Frosty Metcalfe became the oldest winner in recent Deming Speedway history by scoring the win in the 1200 division at the age of 65. Racing on the night was sponsored by Phillips 66 and joining Frosty in victory lane were Jared Peterson, Blaine Granberg and Carson Guffie.

Circumstance helped Frosty into the position to take the victory in the Shots 2 Go Espresso 1200 division. While running fourth in the early race, Metcalfe watched as race leader Alex Lewis lost power on the 4th lap, moving him up to third behind Tyson Lemley and Clennon Holloway. When Lemley collided with a slower car on lap 7, Holloway caught a piece of the wreck and knocked his muffler off, sending both cars to the pits for repairs. This handed the lead to Metcalfe, who would hold point over the final 18 laps with Jared Gundersen hot on his heels before scoring the popular win. Gundersen took second with Dick Williams taking third.

Driving an unfamiliar car was not an issue for Jared Peterson in the Speedmart Hoosier 600 open class. Peterson led all twenty five laps of the main to take his second win of the year while filling in for the absent Tanner Holm in his #48. Kaden Holm was in attendance and survived a chaotic race for second with Tyson Lemley grabbing third.

Blaine Granberg made the most of a good opportunity in winning his second Mytrafficman.NET 600 Restricted main event of the season. Granberg had been trailing race leader Parker Hadlock closely for the first 19 laps before Hadlock unexplainably lost power on the front stretch, handing Blaine the lead and eventual win. Jordi Meese took second with Jeremy Holz in third.

Carson Guffie went nearly a year between his first career and second career wins in the Kasey Kahne Junior Sprints. Guffie had been shut out of victory lane since the 2017 Big Al Memorial race at Deming Speedway before going wire to wire for the win on Friday night, leading Axel Oudman and Levi Kuntz to the checkered flag.
