Everson, WA – Mother Nature was lurking but Deming Speedway drivers were up to the task as 84 cars rolled through a fast program to finish at 9:25pm, beating the weather by just a few minutes. It was Speedmart & Pacific Power Batteries night at the track and as the night finished off, it was Colin Mackey, Nate Vaughn, Colton Knapp and Lennen Peeters standing tall in victory lane. 

Win number six on the season came in dominant fashion for Colin Mackey in the Speedmart 600 class. On a hooked up and fast track, Mackey went wire to wire to score the win, never taking on a serious challenge. Tristin Thomas ran second with David Greene rolling home to third. 

A late race stoppage is all Nate Vaughn needed to make his presence felt in the Shots 2 Go Espresso 1200 division. Seth Hespe had held the lead from the beginning of the race with Kyle Mitchell pestering him in heavy traffic when Mitchell suffered mechanical malfunction on the 25th lap, bringing the field to a caution flag. On the restart, Vaughn found incredible grip on the low side of the track, giving him a strong run at Hespe for the lead. After a couple laps of side by side action, Vaughn closed the door for good, scoring the win in impressive fashion. Hespe and Peyton Drake took second and third place respectively. 

Can anyone stop Colton Knapp? Now a double digit feature winner on the season, Knapp led every lap of the main event without challenge in the Doyle Guffie’s Rallye Auto Sales 600 Restricted class, Hudson Johnson overcame a damaged top wing to finish second while Brooklyn Bracy ran third. 

Lennen Peeters picked up feature win number two on the year at Deming Speedway on Friday in the Capstone Plastering Jr Sprint class. Peeters found herself with a strong challenge from Savanna Hillier in the final few laps of the race but managed to keep the door closed and led the all female top three to the podium, with Hillier taking second and Delilah Stermer finishing third.
