Everson, WA – Night one of the 43rd annual Clay Cup Nationals fell to bad weather, but not before the Capstone Plastering JR Sprints got a full program in the books.

Luke Coates was the big winner on Thursday night, as his quick time and strong heat race pull him on the pole for the A Feature. When the green flag dropped, Coates ran away from the field and hid, leading all 20 laps of the main event for the feature win ahead of Cole Dishneau and Lucas Fisher. Heat winners were Kayson Sargent and DJ Stermer.

With the rest of the night falling to bad weather, drivers will now run one full night point scoring program on Friday in the Speedmart 600s, Shots 2 Go Espresso 1200s and Doyle Guffie’s Rallye Auto Sales 600 Restricteds and add it to Thursday night’s Qualifying, Heat Race, Passing Points and Checkered Flag points accumulated through the heat races. The Capstone Plastering JR Sprints will run another separate program and take the better of their scores from night one or night two.
