Everson, WA – 88 cars graced the pit area at Deming Speedway for Opening Night 2026. Racing action was presented by Stremler Gravel and Sierra Pacific Industries and the feature winners on the night were Levi Hillier, Kyle Mitchell, Hudson Johnson and Austin Harris.

The Speedmart 600 main event featured three different race leaders and lots of carnage, as only 11 of the original 19 starters finished the race. Tristin Thomas led until lap nine when Reese Wickard took the top spot. Wickard held a strong lead until mechanical gremlins bit him on lap 20, handing the top spot to Levi Hillier who built a half lap advantage at the checkered flag and grabbed his first micro sprint victory of 2026. Tank Chorney and Sawyer Baxter were second and third. Heat race wins went to Baxter and Chorney, as well as Spencer Constance and Cooper Anderson. 

The Shots 2 Go Espresso 1200 class saw Kyle Mitchell return to victory lane on opening night. Mitchell took the lead from Derek Holmwood on lap four and held strong to keep the lead from a charging Nate Vaughn late en route to the win. Vaughn would take second while Dakota Drake advanced to third. Vaughn was a heat race winner along with Jaden Thomas. 

Hudson Johnson kicked off 2026 with a win in the Doyle Guffie’s Rallye Auto Sales 600 Restricted class. Johnson led all 25 laps for the opening night victory. Jayce Medcalf closed late in traffic but ended up settling for second and Logan Williams ripped his way to a third place result. Medcalf and Williams were heat race winners, as were Dayton Empey and Savanna Hillier. 

It was a very successful opening night in the Capstone Plastering JR Sprints for Austin Harris who led all 20 laps of the main event for his first win. DJ Stermer was on his tail most of the way before faltering late, giving the second place finish to Lucas Fisher with Stermer taking third in his Deming Speedway debut. Harris also won his heat race, as did Stermer and Easton Williams.
