Everson, WA – The final night before this year’s Clay Cup Nationals saw four drivers score important wins before the biggest race weekend of the year. Racing was sponsored by Texmo Buildings and Brent Rents, with Pacific Coast Welding & Marine pushing an extra $1,000 into the 600 division, which pushed the total to win in the class up to $1,000 overall. 

Former Clay Cup Champion Jared Peterson got his program on track in the final tune up before next week’s Clay Cup commences in the Speedmart 600 class. Peterson was challenged early by Colin Mackey before Mackey ended up in a wreck with third place running Nicholas Howard. On the restart, Jared ran away and hid, taking the win in impressive fashion over Spencer Constance and Howard. 

Kyle MItchell ran away with the Shots 2 Go Espresso 1200 main event to secure a huge amount of momentum heading into Clay Cup. Mitchell was untouchable, leading every lap of the feature. Derek Holmwood and Nate Vaughn had a spirited battle for second with Holmwood coming out on top. 

It was another win in the Doyle Guffie’s Rallye Auto Sales 600 Restricted division. Starting sixth, Knapp methodically worked his way forward on the field and using the high groove, passed Hudson Johnson with two laps left to collect another win. For Johnson, it was his best finish in the class by taking runner up. Aiden Stone ran third. 

Delilah Stermer found her way back to victory lane in the Capstone Plastering JR Sprints. Stermer led all 20 laps with competition right on her tail the whole way. Savanna Hillier was on Stermer’s back bumper nearly the whole race, but the pair raced each other clean the whole way, with Stermer and Hillier taking the top two spots and Lucas Fisher earning third.
