Everson, WA – It was a night to celebrate America’s Birthday as well as Midseason Championships at Deming Speedway Friday night, with racing brought to us by our friends at Skagit Speedway. The excited crowd watched 89 cars do battle on the track and were treated to a killer fireworks display to close out the night. 

The race of the night may have very well been the last one, as the Speedmart 600 division absolutely went at it for 30 laps of A Main action. Up front, it was Colin Mackey leading all thirty laps of the main, with Spencer Constance pushing him hard in lapped traffic, even overtaking him for the top spot one time before a caution flag came out and gave the lead back to Colin, as the pass happened before all cars completed the lap. Mackey secured win number seven on the year in front of Constance and Levi Hillier, who came out ahead of an incredible battle with Jared Peterson, Tank Chorney, Dylan Resch and Kyle Mitchell. 

The Shots 2 Go Espresso 1200 main also brought high drama, as Seth Hespe worked to fend off Nate Vaughn and Kyle Mitchell with traffic playing a huge factor. Hespe led the first 23 laps before Vaughn found a lane past him while working in slower traffic, taking the top spot on lap 24. Nate looked to be opening things up to grab the win, but mechanical gremlins reared their head on lap 26, ending Vaughn’s night and handing the lead back to Hespe with four laps left. Mitchell was right on his tail tank on the restart but could not find a path by as Seth scored the win. Mitchell ended up second and Alex Lewis took third. 

Wins keep piling up for Colton Knapp, who is well into double digit w’s on the ear in the Doyle Guffie’s Rallye Auto Sales 600 Restricted division. Knapp led all twenty five laps from the pole, holding off Chloe Danielson and Clayton Jalakas for the victory. 

In the Capstone Plastering JR Sprints, Savanna Hillier won for the third time on the season. Hillier found a path to get by Lucas Fisher on the slicked over surface at lap nine and ran the rest of the way for the win. Second was Fisher, while third was Delilah Stermer.
