Mackey, Mitchell, Morgan and Stermer Win Week 2 Main at Deming Speedway

4/11/25

Everson, WA – Week two of the 2025 race season finished with three of the four divisions crowning new winners and one driver going back to back. Colin Mackey was the driving who stayed perfect with wins on the year at Deming Speedway, with new winners Kyle Mitchell, McKenna Morgan and Delilah Stermer joining him at the trophy ceremony. Racing action was sponsored by The Acme Diner, Washington Alarm and Bulldog Excavating.

Make it two for two for Colin Mackey in the Speedmart 600 division. Despite being dogged by former track champion Dylan Resch nearly the whole way, Mackey was up to the task, turning away every advance to win his second feature of the year. Resch was second ahead of Clayton Jalakas in third.

It looked like easy mode for Kyle Mitchell in the Shots 2 Go Espresso 1200 division. MItchell took the lead from Dakota Drake on lap two and went unchallenged the rest of the way for his win of the year. Seth Hespe made a late race pass to take second while Derek Holmwood ran to third.

McKenna Morgan earned a hard fought victory in the Doyle Guffie’s Rallye Auto Sales 600 Restricted class. Morgan had to fight off a very racey Chase Jensen around the mid point of the race, actually losing the lead for a second before a caution flag came out, resetting the lineup and giving McKenna the lead back. Morgan would go on to lead the rest of the way, turning away Colton Knapp and Jensen at the end for the win.

In the Capstone Plastering JR Sprints, Delilah Stermer stormed her way to her first career win in the division. Starting sixth, Stermer worked her way forward into the lead by lap 10 and went unchallenged for her first victory, earning hard charger in the process. Savanna Hillier and Lennen Peters rounded out the podium.
